Day 1: Juan Santamaria Airport - San José - Alajuela - Bajo del Toro

Reception at Juan Santamaria International Airport near San José, 1.150 meters above sea level in the heart of the Central Valley.
First contact with Costa Rica, gice your private driver your travel documents.
You will recover your vehicle at the airport.

Day 2: Bajo del Toro

Free day to explore the exotic and relaxing environment, hiking or horseback riding.
Several trails lead to waterfalls where you can observe the flora and fauna.

Day 3: Bajo del Toro - Arenal Volcano

Leave early in the morning to go to the area of La Fortuna and its impressive volcano Arenal (1,635 meters).
On the way, and if you have enough time, you will have the opportunity to discover the Poas volcano, which 1,6 km diameter and 300 meters deep crater is known as the biggest active crater in the world.
Visit the small volcano centre of the National Park. From a large viewing platform you will have an unbelievable view on its crater and its sulfur fumarolles. If the weather is clear you will also be able to see the Caribbean see and the Pacifique ocean.
Get back on the road to go to La Fortuna.
Arrive in San Carlos and relax at the hotel near the volcano Arenal.

Day 4: Arenal Volcano - Tenorio Volcano


Departure for volcanoes Miravalles (2,028m altitude) and Tenorio (1,916m altitude). The straight road crosses the rural area of San Rafael de Guatuso.
Arrival at the hotel, a few kilometers after Bijagua, in an area of vast vegetation.

Day 5: Tenorio Volcano

Free day 100% nature. Explore this area off the beaten track as you wish: enjoy the wildlife and tropical vegetation, meet the locals, participate in some sporting activities.
You can take a hike between the magnificent Rio Celeste and Tenorio Volcano, where waterfalls, natural pools of turquoise waters, tropical birds and lush greenery meet.

Day 6: Tenorio Volcano - Monteverde Reserve



Departure to Monteverde, where the reserve consists in alpine pastures landscapes at the heart of the Tilaràn Cordillera. Monteverde is worldly famous for its tropical cloudforest which contributes to the reputation of Costa Rica as an ecotouristic detination, it also shelters some extraordinary animals and vegetation.



On the way you have the opportunity to stop and visit Las Pumas de Cañas Rescue Center, whose mission is to rehabilitate and ensure good conditions for endangered wildlife in Costa Rica, and encourage society's respect and appreciation for wildlife through these actions.

Day 7: Monteverde Reserve

Free day to enjoy the region from the wide variety of possible activities: you can take a hike in the reserve Monteverde and Santa Elena, then try the adventure of the treetops suspended on wires above canopy, discover the jewels of the rainforest at Selvatura Park, visit La Lechería, a cheese factory created in 1953 by Quakers from the United States, and of course go in search of the mystical Quetzal.

Day 8: Monteverde Reserve - Rio Savegre

Early morning departure for the Costa Rican Pacific coast.
If time allows it , you will be able to observe crocodiles on the Rio Tarcoles before reaching Quepos, mecca of sport fishing and production of palm tree oil.

Day 9: Rio Savegre

Free day to enjoy the variety of activities possible at the lodge that will suit all tastes: hiking, riding, bird watching, rafting or kayaking or just relaxing in this context both unusual and quiet.
The lodge is located less than an hour drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. We suggest you visit this beautiful park: swimming in the crystal clear waters, relaxing on the sandy beaches, walk through tropical vegetation .
The site is ideal for the observation of many animals such as sloths and squirrel monkeys.

Day 10: Rio Savegre - Cabo Matapalo - Puerto Jimenez - Cabo Matapalo

Early departure to the wild Osa Peninsula.
You will walk along the coast towards Cortes, and reach Palmar Norte where you will join the Panamerican. Thirty kilometers away, in Chacarita, you will take the bifurcation towards Puerto Jimenez.
Finally, you will arrive at the lodge Lapa Rios, located between the Corcovado National Park and the Golfo Dulce, the heart of a private reserve, with some stunning ocean views

Day 11: Cabo Matapalo

Free time to immerse yourself in nature.

Day 14: Cabo Matapalo - Puerto Jimenez - Juan Santamaria Airport


Transfer to Puerto Jimenez' little airport to catch a flight to San Jose
Return to Puerto Jimenez for your flight to San José.

Note 1: approx. 1 hour flight. times and compagny to be advised at booking time.
Note 2: Be aware of the baggage weight limitation (about 12 kg per person).

Three hours before departure time is the connection with your international flight.
