Day 1: Tocumen Airport - Panama city - Casco Antiguo


Arrival at Tocumen international airport in Panama City. First contact with the country. You will have a private transfer to your hotel. Please hand your travel documents.

Day 2: Panama city - Miraflores water locks - Casco Antiguo

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel for a city tour of Panama City.

Our first stop of the day will be in Panama La Vieja, first capital of the country before it was destroyed by the famous pirate Henry Morgan.

Then, we will head to the must-see Panama Canal and the Miraflores Locks. The visitor center offers a view on transiting vessels of all sorts (container ships, cruise ships, or tiny yachts). It explains the history of the Canal and how the locks work.

We will end our day with a tour in the Casco Antiguo. This bohemian center of Panama City will make you travel in time and immerge into the the historical past of the country. Take a walk in the narrow streets bordered with colorful buildings leading to the Plaza de Francia. Discover the Art-Deco architecture, the cathedral and visit the Panama Canal Museum.

Note 1: the Canal Museum and Panama La Vieja are closed on Mondays.
Note 2: The order of the visits depends on the Canal schedule.

Day 3: Panama city - Albrook Airport - Playon Chico


Your private driver will drive you from your hotel to Albrook Airport.

Early morning you will take a flight to Playon Chico.
Take off scheduled for around 6:00, duration: 45 min

Note: Limited weight of luggage (12 kg per person around for checked baggage and 2 kg for cabin baggage)

Once you get off the plane, a boat transfer will take you up to your lodge, it will take about 15 minutes.

Day at leisure to enjoy the heaven-like environment, far from the rest of the world.


You can choose from a series of tempting options: enjoy and rest on the white sandy beaches or on the comfort of a hammock, escape for a few hours on a deserted island, go meet the Kuna Natives and exchange some smiles with the children during a visit to a village in the comarca, enjoy freshly caught lobster or giant crab (depending on the season), explore the corals while snorkeling, discover the ancient art of molas or even take a boat trip in the middle of mangroves and tropical vegetation.

Day 4: Playon Chico

Day 5: Playon Chico - Albrook Airport - Gamboa - Gatun lake - Gamboa - Panama city - Casco Antiguo

Early in the morning, flight to Panama City.

Luggage weight limit is around 12 kg per person for checked baggage and 2 kg for cabin baggage
Take off scheduled for around 07:00, duration: 45 min


Transfer from Gelabert Airport (Albrook) to the port of Gamboa.


You will get to Lake Gamboa where you will board the boat "Monkey Lodge II" for navigation on the canal near ships in transit between the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.
You will approach some islands where you will find different species of monkeys, including the famous Capuchin who lives in the region.
The day will continue by kayak for a quiet stroll in Lake Gatun. You will go to the source of one of these meanders for swimming and exploring the surrounding lush nature. For those who want to, you can also fish and then cook your meal over a wood fire.

Duration: about 8 hours.
At the end of your activity, your driver will pick you up and take you to the capital.

Day 6: Panama city - Albrook Airport - David - Paso Canoas - Sierpe - Drake Bay - Drake Airport - Drake Bay


Your private driver will drive you from your hotel to Albrook Airport.
Flight to David, capital of Chiriqui's Province.
Transport from David to Paso Canoas, at the border with Costa Rica.
Transport from Paso Canoas to Sierpe.
You will take a boat transfer in the heart of mangroves, from Sierpe to the Osa Peninsula.

Note: About 1 hour of navigation
Transfer from the airport to de Osa Peninsule.

Day 7: San Pedrillo (Parque Corcovado) - Drake Bay

Early departure for a day spent exploring Corcovado National Park, considered the jewel of tropical reserves. You can cross the largest rainforest in the Pacific coast of America by boat or by foot, between crystalline waterfalls and pools on the trails of San Pedrillo.
You will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of birds, including the harpy eagle and silver macaws. It is also here that we have the best chance to see jaguars and tapirs, especially on the beaches at dusk.

Day 8: Isla del Caño (Corcovado National Park) - Drake Bay


Day dedicated to the discovery of Isla del Caño, once sacred place to the pre-Columbian natives, the Diquis.
The clear waters invite to do some diving and snorkeling. In this warm waters is where dolphins, whales and sting rays meet.
Depending on the time of year you will have the opportunity to take a little walk on the island.

In the afternoon, return to La Paloma by boat.

Day 9: Drake Bay - Drake Airport - Sierpe - Rio Savegre

You will have some free time before returning to port of Sierpe by boat, sailing between the Pacific ocean and the mangroves.

Day 10: Rio Savegre

Free day to enjoy the variety of activities possible at the lodge that will suit all tastes: hiking, riding, bird watching, rafting or kayaking or just relaxing in this context both unusual and quiet.
The lodge is located less than an hour drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. We suggest you visit this beautiful park: swimming in the crystal clear waters, relaxing on the sandy beaches, walk through tropical vegetation .
The site is ideal for the observation of many animals such as sloths and squirrel monkeys.

Day 11: Rio Savegre - Arenal Volcano

Morning start to arrive to the area of La Fortuna and the impressive Arenal volcano (1.635 elevation). Depending of the timing there are opportunities on the way to watch the crocodiles in the Rio Tarcoles or to visit the National Park Carara which despite its size (only 52 m2) is one of the most biodiverse of the country. When arriving to Cañas you may stop at the Las Pumas de Cañas Rescue Center, whose mission is to rehabilitate and ensure good conditions for endangered wildlife in Costa Rica, and encourage society's respect and appreciation for wildlife through these actions.

Day 12: Arenal Volcano


A 3 kilometer path will lead you through the primary forest. In total safety you will enjoy a stunning view of the tropical vegetation and of the Arenal volcano, while crossing over 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges over the canopy.


Remember to bring walking shoes, otherwise, you will not be able to enter the park.



In the late afternoon, treat yourself to a relaxing time in the spa resort of Ecotermales in an intimate setting. The warm waters of "Eco Spa" come directly from the hot springs of the Arenal volcano, without ever coming into contact with the magma. This exceptional site is preserved from mass tourism, what makes it a very peaceful place.

Day 13: Arenal Volcano - Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui


Drive to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, authentic rural area surrounded by the rainforest, shelter of tapirs, sloths, coatis and various types of monkeys.

Stop at a palmito plantation (palm tree heart) between Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui and Horquetas. Visit the plantation with the owner and try the fresh palm tree heart in various and delicious recipes.


As guests at Sarapiquis Rainforest, you have free access to the archaeological site and the ethnobotanical garden, feel free to enjoy.

Day 14: Guapiles - Tortuguero National Park

In Caño Blanco or La Pavona, depending on the water level, you will board a motor boat to navigate between flora and fauna all the way to the Tropical Lodge.
The afternoon can visit the Caribbean village of Tortuguero and a small museum dedicated to turtles.

Day 15: Tortuguero National Park

In the morning explore the Tortuguero channels by boat. This large national aquatic park consists in its totality of water channels and lagoons in the middle of an impressive jungle which makes it known as the " Costa Rica Amazonia".
In a journey through this exclusive and outstanding channel network, rivers and swamps at the heart of the jungle, you will discover, with the help of your guide, animals such as crocodiles, caimans, toucans, turtles, shouting monkeys, parrots, sloths, iguanas, multicolored birds, etc.
In the afternoon you will have the possibility to wander on the Cerro Tortuguero, by boat then by foot to enjoy an opulent nature. From the top of the hill you will admire a stunning view on the National Park.

Day 16: Tortuguero National Park - San José

In the morning, you will go by boat to Caño Blanco.
Then resume the road to the capital along banana plantations. Costa Rica is one of the largest exporters in the world of this fruit.
You will cross the lush Braulio Carrillo Park covered with thick rainforest before reaching San Jose.
