Day 1 : Juan Santamaria Airport
Welcome to Costa Rica
Your driver will be waiting for you at Juan Santamaria International Airport, near San Jose, at 1,150 meters above sea level in the heart of the Central Valley to take you to your hotel.
Day 2 : San José
Pick up your rental car!
Departure to the Poas Volcano.
Approximate driving time : 1,5 hours.
Poas Volcano National Park
Visit the Poas Volcano National Park. With a diameter of 1.6 km and 300 meters deep, it’s famous for having one of the largest active craters in the world.
Then visit the vulcanology center. A vast terrace offers a breathtaking view of a caldera (a collapsed crater) which emits sulfurous fumaroles.
Approximate duration : 1.5 hours.
Departure to La Fortuna and the majestic Arenal Volcano.
Arrival in San Carlos valley and settle in to hotel.
Relaxation at the Baldi thermal center
Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation and fun at the Baldi thermal center. Enjoy the various thermal baths, swimming pools, waterfalls and slides. The warm waters come directly from the natural hot springs of the Arenal volcano!
Day 3 : Arenal Volcano
Get ready to experience an adrenaline rush in nature!
Hit the trails and a series of suspension bridges for an introduction to the flora and fauna of the forest canopy.
Then sit back and relax in an open air gondola, which glides through the rain forest, offering up endless views during its mountainous ascent. The perfect tour for those wanting to experience nature for a different angle! On the tour, a bilingual guide will point out the different characteristics of the flora and fauna and other interesting facts.
End your experience with a thrilling zip line tour. Ride down on a zip line cable stretching across canyons and in between treetops.
Day 4 : Arenal Volcano
Morning rafting on the Balsa River
Combine nature and adventure with with an exciting rafting adventure down the Balsa river! You’ll also have the opportunity to experience relaxing moments swimming in the natural pools of the river and enjoying the peaceful sound of the surrounding tropical forest. An unforgettable experience!
Departure for the province of Guanacaste, land of Sabaneros, Costa Rica’s proud and colorful cowboys.
Day 5 : Rincon de la Vieja volcano

Venture out on your own to explore the different areas of the Rincon de la Vieja Park (the Cangreja, las Pailas and Santa Maria). At the heart of this park stands the massive volcano of the same name, the origin of the area’s geothermal activity (look for it on your hikes in Las Pailas and Santa Maria).
On your hike, you may encounter capuchins, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, anteaters, sloths or one of over 300 species of birds. The park was established in 1973 and is home a large amount of orchids or the Guaria morada (Guarianthe skinneri), Costa Rica’s national flower.
Enjoy a relaxing moment in nature in the thermal waters of the Rio Negro. Experience volcanic mud baths, known for their beneficial and invigorating virtues, saunas and thermal waters.
As a bonus, for total relaxation, you can decide to get massages on site.
Day 6 : Rincon de la Vieja Volcano
Horseback riding and Tubing
After a 45-minute horseback ride through the tropical dry forest, arrive at La Catarata Victoria, where you receive your own tube
Descend the Río Negro’s crystal waters and cross rough rapids. This fun experience is one of the most enjoyable ways to cross this part of Rincon de la Vieja.
Drive from Rincon de la Vieja to Manuel Antonio.
Day 7 : Manuel Antonio National Park

Today you’ll head to Manuel Antonio National Park, where stunning beaches, coral reefs and lush flora and fauna reign. Swim in the crystal clear waters, relax on the sandy beaches, walk among the tropical vegetation…
This is the perfect place for wildlife watching. You might see a sloth or a squirrel monkey!
Catamaran tour in family
Set sail towards the horizon and cruise over sapphire hued waves. The catamaran will chart a picturesque course departing from Quepos and gliding around the back of the Manuel Antonio National Park.
Your guide will point out notable wildlife and vegetation, so be sure to have your camera ready!
After touring the coastline, your captain will set anchor at Biesanz Bay where you can snorkel or relax onboard. You might spot parrotfish, starfish or angelfish… and if you are lucky, a dolphin!
Enjoy a tasty barbecue lunch onboard, while admiring the views.
